The Southside Baptist Network invites you to Equip 2023, our annual church leadership development and equipping conference. This year it will be from 8:30am-12:30pm, Saturday, August 19, at Creekside Christian Academy in Hampton. We will have free Chick-fil-A biscuits for those who come early!

Adult Sunday School/Small Groups – Are They Making an Impact? Putting LIFE into Your Bible Study Groups – Jesse Welliver, Pastor of Life Groups & Adult Discipleship, Eagle’s Landing FBC, McDonough. The goal of your group's ministry is to make disciples of Jesus. Let’s learn together how we can be more strategic to encourage LIFE. Teachers/leaders need a clear goal they can work toward to equip others by focusing on simple, LIFE-giving goals. Children & Preschool Ministry – Flip the Script: How to Reach a Self-focused Generation with God’s Truth - Amy Rhodes, FBC Jonesboro, Preschool/Children’s Minister. We are trying to teach a generation of kids with no church background and a very secular worldview. Learn how to start and maintain a Church Security Team. We will discuss threat assessments, selecting and qualifying security team members, scheduling, and guidelines. We will address state law including when and where to carry, discuss firearms qualifications, and provide suggested courses of fire. Examples of schedules and guidelines will be provided and distributed. Men’s Ministry – Men Who Make Disciples – Jarrett Fletcher, Pastor of Discipleship & Missions, Glen Haven, McDonough. Learn how to develop a strategy for men’s ministry with discipleship as the foundation. |
Ministers Wives – Discipling Others to Suffer Well – Rachel Robinson, Pastor Antoine Robinson’s wife at The Rock, Rex. In this world thoroughly marked by the Fall, suffering comes to each one of us. As believers, our aim is to glorify God even in the midst of our suffering, and we must prepare those in our sphere of influence to do so as well by both our example and our intentional teaching.
